YOBSKI, Jack F., 86, lifelong resident of Decatur, IL, passed away at 2:30 a.m., June 14,2007, at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Denver, Colorado. Jack was born July 15, 1920, in Decatur, IL, the son of Fred and Florence (Cazel) Yobski. He married Helen Christina Staab on March 22, 1943, in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Yobski was a U.S. Navy submarine veteran, serving during World War II. He was one of five survivors of the USS. Bullhead, which was the last submarine destroyed in WWII. Jack received his bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and his master's degree from the University of Miami. He was the owner of Jack F. Yobski Realty in Decatur for 45+ years, he was in the realty profession for 52 years. He received the honor of "Realtor of the Year" by the Decatur Board of Realtors in 1992. His first job was working for Decatur Wabash Railroad as a brakeman. Mr. Yobski was a lifelong member of Decatur Board of Realtors, VFW, Elks and American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen, also lifelong resident of Decatur, currently living in Denver, Colorado; granddaughter Lora Sattler and husband Stephen and great grandchildren Luke, Kyle and Paige 9 years old, of Littleton, CO; and granddaughter Jennifer Cade and husband Greg and great grandchildren Avalon, 4 years old, Trinity 15 months of Empire, CO.; and one brother, Robert B. Yobski, of Irvine, CA. He was an avid golf player and loved spending his winters in Florida. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jack Jr.; and one sister, Dorothy Davis. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 17, at the Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL.
