I just realised it was written by Leonard Cohen, who I remember had a big hit with 'Suzanne' back in the mid-60's. That was originally written as a poem and recalled he was always very clever with the words of his lyrics. A lot of people at the time said he wrote depressing songs to cut your wrists to. I wouldn't go that far, but did find some of his other work profoundly deep and pretty heavy stuff. Thanks for the post. Pedro | ||

Back in the day when Jones was putting so much energy and strain in his singing I remember hearing that his voice would never be able to withstand that abuse for very long.
