John was a resident of Charles Town, West Virginia at the time of passing. He served for 20 years in the United States Navy as a member of the Submarine Service, achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, and earning his Associate in Science Degree at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Visitation followed, with Internment in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka Kansas 66675-8517.
