I had handicap modifications made to the house. She and I thought I could look after her. The stroke was a small bleed on the brain stem. Her brother and sister had the same kind of stroke (maybe a genetic thing) and today you would never know it. Linda and I thought her situation would be similar. Not so. Anyway, even with some aides coming in it was not realistic to continue. Our daughter is a senior nurse at the U of VA hospital in Charlottesville VA. That is her home and she found an outstanding care facility in Charlottesville which we could afford. In May this year my wife left here never to return She is getting excellent 24hr care. Now I am in the process of getting things ready to sell our "sweet spot" here in Northern New York. When the Estate sale is done and the place is sold and our "keeper" stuff is moved to C-Ville I plan to move to a small apartment in Charlottesville. Our daughter will be scouting for a suitable seniors complex that would do. --------------------- So, my question to any of you is do you live in a seniors apartment complex in Charlottesville, or know anyone who does or have any info that would be helpful? If so, email me, or just post the info here. We are moving into a new normal. That's life. But at least I'll be in the same town as my wife and daughter. That's about it. Thanks Sid

So sorry about the situation with your wife but it sounds like you have been taking the steps necessary to carry on. It won't be your old "normal" but you will be together. Good luck.
