The submarine receives extensive damage to its sail area and goes to New London, Connecticut. The carrier sustains an open hull cut in the bow area and proceeds to Norfolk, Virginia. | ||

I was witness to her return to SUB BASE. She looked like a step-sail GUPPY. I walked over to the pier for a closer look and they already had her draped in tarps.. | ||

COMSUBBBS Posts: 2672 Location: New Jersey | Subject: RE: 11-10 incident I never realized the amount of incidents that happened to the sub force....I guess our "eyes" weren't open wide enough at these times, including bouncing off the ocean floor. Two hair-raising incidents that could have had catastrophic results, happened long after I left the Sirago..Happy enough about that. | ||
