Woodstove loaded. House is warm. Sitting here looking out the window just watching the snow coming down and thinking about the passage of time.

Sure wish I could do it all again.

ComSubGrp-2 Groton      October 1976 Retired from USN

No ceremony.

Took my 4 year son with me in my pickup. Picked up a plaque and completed the paperwork. Shook hands all around and then went to the SubBase Cafeteria. I always remember what the boy had: Chocolate milk, grilled cheese and a small bag of potato chips. Went home changed into levis and sweat shirt. Took the uniform to the dry cleaners. Went back home and hung dry wall the rest of the day. Gave uniform stuff (all but the dress blues) to a buddy who had just made Chief.

Closed one chapter of my life that I loved - and opened another.

Both were great. Went by much to fast though.

Life in the fast lane

Another memory.  From Charleston 1966 - A good life

Jack,

Yep!  Me too.  52 years this coming summer. Seems just like yesterday.
She had a bad spell last night.  They moved her from the skilled nursing facility back to the hospital ER.
Awaiting call from daughter. She has been with her all night.
One speculation is/was possible reaction to a new medication. I'm awaiting a sitrep call.

"Wintering over" here (500 miles away) and selling off our sweet spot  It really sucks.  Sadly even good things
must end.  Doesn't make it right though - but it is what it is. Couldn't do it without the daughter (nurse at another hospital).

Still living on the boat??

Take care.

Sid
