Great Sage of the Sea Posts: 853 | Subject: 5-21/22 history Atlantic 05/21/73: The USS Sturgeon (SSN-637) strikes the bottom of the ocean suffering minor damage while operating in deep water during a dive off the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Navy says there were no injuries to the crew and the submarine's nuclear power plant was not affected.
