Selling off business units for the last few years. When I was in the navy, their equipment was everywhere. The Polaris missile computer and guidance system were GE (Pittsfield, MA). Turbines were GE; reactor stuff was GE; etc. You would see the circle with GE logo everywhere. They were kicked out of the Dow Industrial index by a Drug Store chain! It was only earlier this month that GE signed a deal with BAe Systems to provide their expertise in improving power performance/resilience in present and future RN surface warships. Not sure precisely what that is they will be providing but if it has been considered a necessity then I'm sure GE will come up with the required solutions. https://www.gemarinesolutions.com/content/ge-support-royal-navy-type-45-fleet-update-enhance-its-power-resilience Pedro Edited by Pedro 2018-06-27 8:33 AM | ||
