BELL, Robert Walter, of Placentia, CA, was born in El Reno, OK Aug 28, 1923 and passed away May 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife (of almost 75 years), Elizabeth, two daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bob was a submariner in WWII [S-32, Icefish] and spent his career as a commercial refrigeration engineer. Published in Orange County Register on July 14, 2018.


CYB, James Michael, 71, of Sebastopol, CA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 4, 2018. Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan to Phyllis and John Cyb on September 20, 1946. He grew up in Santa Rosa and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1964 before serving four years on a submarine in the US Navy. He married CeCe DuCharme in 1970 and had two sons, John and Jim, during their 29-year marriage. In 1974 Jim joined Hewlett-Packard as a Technical Illustrator. He was a graphic designer and later Promo Publications Manager for NMD. Jim also graduated with a degree in Marketing from Sonoma State. Jim is survived by his sons, John and Jim (Teresa), mother Phyllis Cyb, sister Janice Brown (Randy), four awesome grandchildren, Alayna, Jake, Ethan, Chase and many nieces and nephews. He was briefly married to Teren de Cossy in Santa Cruz. Jim's passion was bird photography. He exhibited in Art at the Source and was a member artist in the Sebastopol Art Gallery. Jim also loved old cars, movies, old rock n roll music, hiking, Santa Cruz beach and Hood Mt. but was happiest when he was with his sons and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will take place late July or early August.
