Wonderful Steam "Traction Engines" in WW I roles.
A well spent 1/2 hour.

I remember those steam traction engines; went for a ride on one when I was about six or so. Used them for road works, incredible pulling power, even in the 1950s.
Mallard was a major builder; top speed of about 20 mph.

They used to have one at the Kutztown Fair every year. I even got to help run it for a thrashing demonstration as a friend, of my Aunt's, family owned it. I understand they had to quit because they were afraid the boiler was too weak to stand the pressure.
