Historian Posts: 190 | Subject: Passing of two from Stonewall Jackson crews Robert Eugene Prejean Jr. Born on Oct. 23, 1949, Eternal Patrol Sept 26, 2012 Robert was born on Oct. 23, 1949 in Baton Rouge LA to Robert and Margaret Prejean, Sr. and died Sept. 26, 2012 in Chico, Calif. A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Quality Inn & Suites Courtyard Room, 131 Lobdell Highway, Port Allen, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Robert was raised and attended school in Port Allen. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a submariner. When his tour of duty was up, he was honorably discharged from the service, and he made the decision to attend college at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Robert's work experiences were varied and exciting; they included working and living aboard a nuclear submarine in the Navy, oil rig platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, Geo Sat mapping and surveying in the Philippines and numerous highway projects in rural Northern California for CalTrans. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Prejean, Sr. Robert is survived by his wife, Carolof Cohasset, Calif.; mother, Margaret T. Prejean of Port Allen; two sisters, Sharon & Russell DiBenedetto, and Janice & James Carrier, Jr.; four brothers, James Douglas & Linda Prejean, Kenneth & Debra Prejean, Bradley Prejean, and Adrian & Sheila Prejean . Archie Donald Boccia BOCCIA, Archie Donald Born in the Bronx, NY, January 16, 1940; Died November 12, 2018 in Brentwood CA. On November 12, 2018, TMC(SS), Archie Donald Boccia, United States Navy, Retired, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. Archie was a twenty year veteran of the United States Navy and he proudly served aboard the USS Benjamin Franklin (SSBN 640) and USS Stonewall Jackson (SSBN 634) and ended his career at the Westinghouse plant in Sunnyvale, CA. Upon his retirement from the Navy in 1980, he worked as a technical writer for the Trident missile program at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA. Archie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Heather, his son Scott (Christine) and will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Adam and Jordan. Archie was predeceased by his daughter Melissa in 2011.
