Might have been completely done using the Mk I eyeball and in-head calculations. For a ferry to see a periscope, the submarine would be on the beam (no danger) or ahead and probably preparing to carry out a duck and under, then back up again. Irish sea area, every possibility that a boat was being used for COQC (Perisher) course. Nothing to worry about, apart from the fact that the periscope was left dangling too long and thus spotted. | ||
