Of course, we had nothing comparable available to teenagers back then unless it was a Mini-Cooper should you be born rich and lucky. Surfing was a tad cold for us in the North and Irish seas, but regardless, we really loved those songs and great sounds from The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean about cars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS5ttqc8iDw&list=RD8g1HtpTonJI&index=2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g1HtpTonJI&list=RD8g1HtpTonJI&index=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYxPgFUjDpA&list=RD8g1HtpTonJI&index=6 Pedro Edited by Pedro 2020-02-15 5:59 PM

Designed for freeway driving only. Triumph, MG, Lotus and Jaguar (for those with a few dollars) were the sought after cars for the more 'adventurous' roads. As a young kid in UK, many US servicemen living in the town, not very far from Croughton and Upper Heyford, would buy British sports cars and then take back the appropriate parts for their cars back home to corner better. American cars in Australia fared very badly because our general terrain. until one is well inland, does not favour straight roads. The freeways are built at millions per mile, permits larger trucks to carry the variety of goods. Train travel is restricted; those bends and ups/downs do not permit fast carriage of anything.
