Canadian folk-singer Stan Rogers had a great voice and a good group. He sang and wrote good songs.

He died when a Air Canada jet running from New Orleans (after a gig) to Toronto caught fire in-air. They got the plane on the ground in Cincinnati but something like 20 people died of smoke & lack of oxygen, one of them being Stan Rogers.

If you can find "Barrett's Privateers" give it a listen.

Ahhhh... Glad to see others appreciate Stan Rogers. I have long been a huge fan of his . He died way too young. I think his greatest work was "Northwest Passage". Nat Geo did a documentary of the Franklin expedition years ago which featured his song.
