Merle Haggard came along in the mid 60; s after his release from San Quentin for Grand Theft Auto. His first hit record was “Lonesome Fugitive” the first of many in his ensuing career. Merle did a specialist album of the songs of Jimmie Rodgers the first country and western recording artist known as the Blue Yodeller who was famous in the 1930s. Two of them are included here.
