I feel the three point shot has changed the NBA and NCAA basketball so much that I haven't adjusted to it.  However the games in the Men's March Madness tournament have been incredibly exciting.  Can't say the same for the NBA.  I have not seen hardly any of the women basketball, or NIT.

I've never been excited by basketball.

I once went to a boxing match, and a hockey game broke out.

I can understand someone not being excited about basketball.  I'd be the same was if I wasn't born here and my Dad wasn't a sports fan.

Growing up UCLA basketball and John Wooden got me excited about basketball.  Later the Lakers and Showtime did it.  The Laker Celtic rivalry was as big as anything.  Dodger baseball of the 60's captivated me because we had Vin Sully broadcasting every game.  Hockey and Soccer do nothing for me.  People use to say see hockey in person and you'll enjoy it- I did and it didn't. we watched tennis and golf on television.  I loved Wide World of Sports.  The most exciting thing I remember was Franz Klammer winning the downhill race in the Olympics with Frank Gifford calling it on television.

I remember Dad was driving around LA, and the Kentucky Derby was about to come on.  My Dad went in to a bar that had a big window in it so I could see the Kentucky Derby from outside.  A famous local horse (Silky Sullivan) was running and he ran from so far back they had to use two separate screens to show him and the field.  Silky is still trying to catch the field in horse heaven.
