BAER .. .. .. Scott Franklin Baer, 64, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Fleetwood, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February, 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christi (Sarfert) Baer, two daughters; Nicole Hower (Nathan) and Samantha Baer-Gibson (Troy), five grandchildren; Peyton, Kendall, and Avery Hower and Tenley and Elliott Gibson; sisters Heidi Baer and Holly Thaler (husband Dave), brother-in-law, James Sarfert (Suzanne), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Franklin (Skip) Baer and Dorothy (Kohut) Baer.
Scott was a graduate of Whitehall High School and the United States Naval Academy. He served in the Navy on a Nuclear Submarine, attaining the rank of Lt. Commander. After an honorable discharge, Scott had a very successful career at Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, PA, retiring in 2016.
Scott’s family was his pride and joy, and he was actively involved with his children’s’ activities. He proudly served on the Fleetwood Area School Board and was elected Board President his last two years. Scott was also an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed being active, including mountain and road biking, and golfing.
Scott will be deeply missed by all lucky enough to know him. May he always be remembered as an Officer and a Gentleman with a huge smile on his face.
A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held at Klee Funeral Home, One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with visitation in the funeral home from 9:30-11:00 am. Final committal will be private at the U.S. Naval Academy in the future. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Scott’s honor to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by visiting www.act.alz.org. CLARK .. .. .. Jeffrey “Jeff” T. Clark, 62, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, Feb 25, 2025, at his home. 
He was born on June 20, 1962, to Nevada and Louella (Brumitt) Clark in Hillsboro, Wis. Jeff attended Brookwood High School. In 1989, he enlisted into the military, proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Navy.

While in the Navy, he was able to serve on the USS Haddock submarine with brother Bob. He earned dual designation submarine qualifications certificate called Dolphins and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialists. He is also credited with creating a new weight test for safety clamps that was adopted Navy-wide.
In 1992, Jeff was united in marriage to Marcy A. (Eckoldt) Finlay. Jeff worked for Cardinal Glass, the National Guard Armory in Sparta, and the United States Postal Service in Tomah and Wilton. Jeff was a familiar face at the Tomah and Wilton Post Office, dedicating over 23 years between the two locations, retiring in 2021. Jeff was a member of the Norwalk American Legion Post 438 for many years as well as the Wilton Rod & Gun Club.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman; if he had the time, he could be found outside. Hunting and fishing, just to name a few, were his favorite things to do. As a Packer fan, he loved watching the games and cheering for his team. Above all, Jeff was a family man that loved spending time with his grandkids, they were the center of his universe. He had a witty, cheerful personality and was somewhat of a jokester.
He is survived by his wife, Marcy of Norwalk; his father, Nevada of Hillsboro; his children, Barney (Pauline) Finlay of Ocala, Fla., and their children, Timothy, Raylan and Kiera; Sarah (Don) Granger of New Lisbon and their children, Joseph, MaKayla, Mickryan and DJ; Audrey (Harlan) Brooks of Norwalk and their children, Dylan, Haley, Savannah and Kylie; Jason (Shayna) Clark of La Crosse and their children, Kahlan, Joslynn and Trinity; his siblings, Robert Clark and Lori Eden; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David (Robin Trujillo) Eckoldt, Shelley (David) Eshelman, and John (Kim) Eckoldt. He is further survived by his special friends, Neal, Joe and Rita, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Louella; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his grandparents; and a sister-in-law, Michelle Clark.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 1–5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Wilton American Legion, 508 Walker St., Wilton.
Military honors will be performed at 2 p.m. Saturday by Norwalk American Legion Post 438.
A private burial will be held at a later date.


SMITH .. .. .. Donald Kent Smith was born in Colorado on November 27, 1946, and died at his home in Cope on January 19, 2025 at the age of 76.
Kent's family moved to Southern California in his early youth. Kent graduated from Garey High School in Pomona, and was a member of the football team. Upon graduating, Kent joined the United States Navy, and served on the USS John Adams submarine in Hawaii and Guam. After being honorably discharged, Kent earned a degree from California Polytechnic State University, and went on to earn a master's degree in marriage and family therapy. During Kent's career as a therapist in California and Colorado, he worked in juvenile boys' treatment facilities, a federal prison, and for the county.
In 2005, Kent and his wife Carole Rae moved to Cope. They always loved rural eastern Colorado, especially their extended family and the community. After Carole's death, Kent remained widowed until marrying his best friend Theresa, who died two months before him.
Kent is survived by his loving son Bryan, daughter-in-law, three grandsons, and his beloved dog Sampson.


ELLNER .. .. .. Gene W. Ellner of Plymouth, formerly of Belgium, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at the age of 84.
He was born the beloved son of Fredrick and Dorothy (nee Boehler) Ellner in Milwaukee on Aug. 11, 1940.
Gene was united in marriage to Karen Ostron at West Granville Presbyterian Church on Nov. 24, 1962, and together they raised three loving children.
Gene proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as an engineman 3rd class on the USS Tunny submarine from 1959 to 1961.
He retired from Pioneer Container (International Papers) after 29 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he worked as a custodian at Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School.
Gene was a longtime member of Melvin Wester American Legion Memorial Post 412 in Belgium.
Gene was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed Canadian fishing trips with his sons. Family casino trips were always a favorite for Gene. Above all, Gene’s family was most important to him.
Gene’s memory will be cherished by his children Kevin (Patti Jo) Ellner, Lorie (Carl) Buser and Tom (Julie Nigh) Ellner; grandchildren Keith (Katie) Rasmussen, Cassie (Kyle Konetzke) Ellner, Chris Ellner, Tim (Amber Smith) Buser, Amanda (Craig) Ruehr, Katelynn (Marcus Ertman) Buser, Justin (Rae) Nigh and Jeris (Wim Van Der Graaf) Nigh; great-grandchildren Mya, E’Nyjiah, Colton, Jaxson, Audrey, Landon, Ethan, Madelynn, Aaliyah, Wesley, Maverick, Luna, Mayson and baby Joseph on the way; sisters-in-law Eleanor Ellner and Evelyn Ostron; and brother-in-law Jim (Kathy) Ostron.  He is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, brother Lawrence Ellner, grandson Daniel Rasmussen, great-grandson Oliver Daniel Rassmussen and brothers-in-law Bill and Rick Ostron.
A funeral service will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, WI 53004. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear Packers or casual attire in honor of Gene.
