The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

STAUFENBERG - Robert "Bob" Paul Staufenberg, a Vietnam Veteran and retired master chief in the U.S. Navy, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at the age of 82.
He was born in the spring of 1943 in Manhattan, N.Y. Bob touched many lives with his wisdom and unwavering spirit of perseverance, and as the oldest brother of a family of seven, he eagerly took on the role as a father figure at an early age.
In 1960, he joined the U.S. Navy and moved up the ranks to master chief. He served as an adviser for the Vietnamese Navy, receiving a Commendation Medal with a Combat Action Ribbon, a 2-star Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and many others. In 1977, he was stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines, while on the USS Grayback.
After five months and two dates, he married the love of his life, Millie Staufenberg. Bob retired from the U.S. Navy in 1986 and lived out his retirement in St. Marys, Ga., working at TRF Kings Bay Submarine Base. He was inducted, with great pride, into The Holland Club of Submarine Vets, an exclusive recognition within USSVI for members who have been qualified in submarines for 50 years or more.
He had a passion for knowledge and truth that he eagerly imparted to others and was a longtime member of VFW #8385 and the Eagles. Though highly decorated for his military service, the honors he treasured most were the roles he held closest to his heart: devoted brother, husband, caring father and cherished grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Emilia "Millie" Staufenberg; two daughters, Jennifer Staufenberg Taylor and Wendi Staufenberg Mason; four grandchildren, Ian Taylor, Evan Taylor, Brycen Taylor and Meadow Mason; and extended family.
