The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

McCARTHY .. .. .. With great sadness, we announce the passing of SKCM(SS) Edward J. McCarthy, age 80, who died peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on December 13, 2025.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Diana, and his three children: Eric (Melissa), Angela, and Anthony. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Aubrey, Kaitlynn, Kalex, and Kamille, and great-grandchildren Annabelle, Bexlee, Luka, Kalliope, Zayleigh, and Kylan.
He is further survived by his siblings Cheryl (Roy), Kathy, and Thomas, and brother-in-law Leon (Debbie); nieces Melissa, Jamie, and Shannon; nephews Chad, Joel, and Craig; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Edward was preceded in death by a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Ed grew up in Milton, Massachusetts, and studied at Bentley College before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 27 years-seven years aboard surface ships and twenty years in the submarine service. He was a Vietnam Veteran and also served in support of the Navy SEALs and the foreign exchange program with Canada.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Ed worked various jobs before joining NutraMax, Inc., where he later met Diana. They were married on October 7, 1995. Ed was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Friends of the Milton Library, and volunteered with several other organizations. For three summers after retiring, Ed and Diana traveled to Yellowstone National Park, where they worked for the National Park Service.
