Does anyone have a suggestion where I might find a 10 X 12 photograph or larger, suitable for framing, of the 583 shown in the attachment?
Thanks,
Sammy

Are you certain that's Sargo?

It is almost identical to a photo I have of Seadragon when we came out of No Ka Oi shipyard after the last refueling in December 1977.

The two officers on the bridge look like Cdr. Norman P. Emerson & Ltjg Mike Fagerness.

It doesn't make know differnece there was never more than one of em able to get undrway on any given day in the Early 70's Least that was how people on Aspro Maru, Puffer and Tautog felt. In Fact we always thought the Seadragon was really the Land Lizard *they always had the best Intermural Teams cause they were in the yard. We had our own B------d Step Child though in the Pogy who seemed to add a few days to the rest of the 637 boats days.

Yeah, when I got to the Brokedragon in May 75 she was 20 years old and looked 200. Should have been going to overhaul and not WestPac, but No Ka Oi was a year late with Sargo.

Didn't help that our Engineer, Tommy Holden, was not only a horse's posterior, he was incompetent. Failed to properly train his JO's, caused the ORSE failure just before we went into overhaul in 76. Soon as the Weps passed his Engineer's boards, the Eng was Relieved For Cause - lost 2 paygrades, his Dolphins, and his Naval Career. Good riddence.

Pogy wasn't so bad, I had a couple NPS classmates on her. The real problem child was Haddock. She had serious equipment problems, morale so bad guys were non-voling all over the place.

Add in the anti-nuke rallies outside Makalapa Gate and Pink Mink trying to get the whole Pearl Harbor complex shut down and returned to the State of Hawaii. Not a fun time to be on one of the older boats at Pearl Harbor.

The photo shown of the SARGO (without sail numbers) was indeed of the SARGO. My photo. I was on 73-76 and then transferred to shoredragon in 76 to finish out my time before getting out.
