(Very loose interpretation.) I think this was a WWII song. I was reading a magazine while sitting in a doctor's waiting room this morning, and these words popped up at me. The beginning words of the song were very familiar, but since it's been several hours since I left the clinic, all but the words above, have also left me. COMSUBBBS Posts: 2561 Location: Rapid City, SD | Subject: Thanks, Park - but - I just remembered that it wasn't in the doctor's office where I saw it, but in a Reminisce magazine right here at home. Here it is: "They're either too young or too old. "They're either too gray or too grassy green. "The pickin's are poor, and the crops are lean. "They're isn't any gravy; the gravy's in the Navy." I think this meant all the "just right" guys are in the Navy. But, we already knew that, didn't we? Cora | ||
