Good, the Farmer's Almanac has predicted a cold winter for us here in Georgia. Can only imagine what that means for you.

Shame on you, Ric, for using that 4 letter word so soon . I noticed by looking at the women when I did my neighborhood walk this morning that it was a tad "nippy" here in Charleston.

So how nippy is a "tad" nippy? By our definition in South Florida, that would be 79 degrees or lower!

A "tad nippy" is between 60f/15c and 40f/5c when the girls show just a bit of nipple bumps. "Very nippy" is when it gets 40f/5c and below, they show big-time. Isn't that explained to you in nuke school? I thought it was explained during "liquid pressure and fluid flow" class. At least it was when I spent some time in class there during the early '60's.

Ralph, that’s all very well and good, but does your theory account for regional differences? Here in Alaska, measurable phenomena do not occur until the mean ambient temperature falls below -10 F. I refer you, of course, to Dr. Hoary Frost’s seminal work, Regional Variations In Measurable Nipple Bump Response To Nippy Weather. I know that you, as a fellow scholar, try to keep abreast the recent developments in this fascinating area of research, and I can not recommend Dr. Frost’s tome too highly.

GREAT SCOTT George, at those temps those rascals should just come out and grab ya. I've always told my "Ball & Chain" that I would love to winter over in Alaska before I go 10-7. Now I know why. Must be some sort of built in lure.

Come on up, Ralph. Dr. Frost is always looking for Research Assistants. He’s a little worried, though, about a purported upswing in world temperatures. In fact, he is busy working on a new peer-reviewed, research paper: “Global Warming— Whither the bumps?”. It’s pretty dry reading, but the illustrations are enlightening.

Uh, Ralph, I remind you I live in South Florida. Showing big-time nipple bumps is a matter of routine down here, and is independent of temperature/pressure. As far as what is explained in nuke school, all that ray-dee-ay-shun has eaten that away.
