Did not last very long. When I left the Ronquil in 1959 the two tenders were anchored out in San Diego bay.

Hey John, when the Martini's (Dan & Ron) and I reported in to our three San Diego subs after sub school, they were all alongside the tenders Nereus and Sperry anchored out in the bay.  Shortly thereafter (same year in '61) Ballast Point opened up for the tenders and boats...

For a guy like myself who at that time never had been further west then New Jersey, I was gonna ask, where is Ballast Point? I wonder how it looks today??? I betcha that desolate island (?) across from the boats is loaded with town houses/condo's now.
