..still researching and need to know where I can find historical data about moon rise and set and phases in Hawaiian waters in May of 1921. Been busting my brain trying to nail this down and have come up cold.

GaryKC provided that on Ron's BBS.

You're welcome, glad to help. (I just googled 'moonrise times' and it took me to the site that gave the answer.)

Ric,

Rather than the one year version, try the one day version.

http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.php

The moon phase information is given below the rise/set time.

I put in May 1, 1921 and Honolulu Hawaii and found the moonrise was 1:53 am, moonset was 1:49 pm, and the phase was waning crescent with 34% of the Moon's visible disc illuminated.

I'm figuring that something historical, relating to submarines, occurred in Hawaiian waters in May of 1921.
But then, what do I know?
