Tesar, Commanding Officer USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) conducts a triple reenlistment ceremony onboard the USS Bowfin museum in Pearl Harbor Memorial Park Friday, November 14. Machinist Mate 2nd Class (SS) Anthony O’Hare, Machinist Mate 3rd Class Caleb Clonts and Machinist Mate 2nd Class Timothy Griffin each reenlisted for six years of naval service and received a total combined reenlistment bonus of $247,000. I recall when I went from E-8, P-3, Sub Pay, Sea pay, Clothing allowance, etc to pin stripe W-1 Warrant and retaining my E-8 base pay under the saved pay clause! This was in 1967... Wife, June went back to work to help pay our bills! It was a big gamble that ultimately paid off when I was a able to go LDO and go back to submarine duty! Sometimes you have to take a chance? No regrets, as things ultimately worked out in my favor. As the old saying goes, "s**t house luck". I love it!
