Ain't it funny how we thought we were really a "Different" Navy from the skimmers? But when you come to think of it, we really did have seperate work ethic and code to live by. Steamboat sends

Joined her in Philly yards in July 1962, then up to New London where I had orders to the Lafayette at EB. My last boat was the Thornback 418, did a Gitmo op just before getting out in April 1966. There was "Lube Oil" Turner, "Nigger" Reynolds-who was a white guy, and a few more who helped the attendance at "The Church" at Folly Beach, SC on Sunday mornings. Those were the days my friend

COMSUBBBS Posts: 6180 Location: Summerville, SC | Subject: RE: Diesel Boat Photos You sure did miss some good ol diesel boat days. Back in the early to mid '60's the Thornback, Chivo and Sennet, all Squadron 4 boats, had some fantastic crews. The Gitmo Hilton was one of our southern most Headquarters.
