The Raptor requires 30 hours of ground maintenence for every hour of flight time. One big problem has to do with the stealth skin which peels off,but the F 22 Raptor is the only plane that can survive the new Russian counter measures they are currently developing and will sell to rogue nations as well as China. The Obama Sec. of Defense wants to ground the Raptor to save money. Each Raptor cost 122 million to build. The Obama people are saying they cost 350 million a plane but they are including the development costs spent in the original design and tooling to set up the Raptor production.  |
