Edward Mason co.1216-SA Castillo.Spcallc com : DR- June 26 1944 US Navy Training Edward Mason is the grandfather of my nephew's wife. They are trying to find out more about his Navy Service in WWII and this is the only thing they have, as of now. Since I was in the Navy they think I know everything (if they only knew the truth) and asked if I could help them find places where they could get more info. Also, what are the rules for who can request records from the archives in St. Louis? Thanks,

As next of kin, can get a copy of your father's service record by going to the website www.nara.gov and clicking on the appropriate tabs. You can fill it out on line(preferred) or print it and mail it. You should hear back from them inless than a month. The amount of information you get will depend onhow the particular researcher was feeling when your request came acrosshis desk. (They get about 5000 requests a day.) The letter you get will have the name of the researcher and hisdirect phone number on it. If you would like to get more information(if any is to be had) call that person within a day or two before thefile goes back in the archives. They are usually very helpful.
