I piped at a "Tribute to WWII Veterans" last night and will do a repeat tonight at a different location. Met a lot of really interesting guys, especially some Tuskegee Airmen. I had heard about these guys but had never met any of them. What a group; outstanding individuals and loads of fun to be around. Now I've got some history to study.

Their airbase wasn't far from here. They trained and were based out of Walterboro, SC for a larger part of WWII. They also had a Reunion a few years ago during one of our Sennet Reunions in the same hotel. We also had a Reunion in the same hotel with the Flying Tigers. Both were/are great people.

I took a jewelery making class from a woman who's dad was one of the original Flying Tigers. Unfortunately he had already passed away or I would have tried to meet him. All remarkable people.
