| Plankowner Posts: 5024 Location: Gulfport, MS | Subject: Obit Messenger results for 08/18/09. - (Ventura County Star) John Raymond Hyde, Junior passed away on August 10, 2009 in Hamilton, Montana after a long illness. John was born on October 5, 1958 in Inglewood, CA. to John and Cheri Hyde. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1976 and carried on a family tradition by enlisting in the submarine service of the United States Navy. He was also a Navy diver and worked for L-3 Communications MariPro installing undersea sensor systems. Injuries from a diving accident lead John to change careers and he was a Senior Estimator and Project Manager with Viola Constructors and Schiffer Construction. John was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and loved diving, surfing, fishing and sailing. He was also an accomplished cook and enjoyed experimenting with new dishes, particularly fish and game. John is survived by: Beka Schrieber, his beloved companion of many years; his son Eric Vaugn Hyde of Lake Havasu; brother Gregory Hyde of Pheonix; sisters Erin Collins of San Pedro and Dianne Hyde of San Francisco; step-brother Matthew Linn of Ventura; step-sisters Lisa Smeaton of Long Beach, Michelle Jewett of Albuquergue and Dr. Kristine Linn of Seattle; father and step-mother John and Sylvia Hyde of Port Hueneme; and mother and step-father Cheri and Roger Jewett and Ventura. A family service is planned for late September. Memorials in John's name may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA 22311. | ||
