I talked to Cynthia Aukerman, the reporter at the Winchester New-Gazette, and both Cathy & Toni (two of Dallas Cheesman's daughters today.

The reporter said that she would try to find the seven-year-old newspaper and get me a copy of the second page, where the ends of the two stories that she wrote are. I was only sent the front page by Doyle Lester years ago.

Had a lengthy conversataion with Cathy. She said that the three of them go to Dallas and Betty's house once a month; they are ready to start documenting everything that's in it. She said that her Dad had a big file cabinet full of submarine (probably Sterlet) records, and that he kept everything chronological, so that it should be easy to find stuff. She will try to learn where he obtained the information that the Sterlet had sunk a 14th ship during WWII.

That is wonderful and know the factual numbers are important to you - God helped my little hands come up with that church bulletin otherwise I would have never been able to find the information for youso quick.

Glad to help and hope they help you put the pieces together for you

Good Luck
