I did not know John but I know of his work. It is a reflection of who he was; a good man and a fine shipmate.

Very sad to hear this. Met John in 2005 when the Ray was having a reunion in Kings Bay. Made us Ray sailors most welcome at the museum and we chatted quite a long time (I got a personal tour of the place which was truly amazing).

Thanks for everything John! Big shoes to fill shipmate!!

I had the pleasure of chatting with John on Wednesday just before lunch. He seemed fine at the time, and we talked about the submarine themed ceramic pieces that my youngest daughter used to make and sell on consignment at the museum when her husband was stationed at King's Bay.

What a loss to the submarine family. I ave just watched a video tour John gave of the Museum sent to me by Mary Flagg and had tears in my eyes during the whole l0 minute
video. To his family and friends go my prayers from the entire USS STERLET SS392
family.

When Sue and I were doing the patch project for the Branson Veterans Museum he offered those that wanted to donate patches at cost and free shipping. He helped Sue by proof reading all of her hisotry information for the plaque patches. The research he gave us about special crew, medal of honor receipients correct information was invaluable to us and he helped our completion date to be reduced by many months. Thanks to an unselfish curator of a family he loved The Submarine Family.
