MORTON, Paul H., 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2007, after a coura geous and remarkable 23-year battle with lung cancer. Born in Macomb, IL on January 27, 1930, he will be remembered as a loving hus band, wonderful father, inventor and consummate teacher. Paul served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1953, spending three years as a submariner. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering through 1954. Paul moved his family to Satellite Beach, FL in 1966 when he joined PanAm at the Cape (the best move he ever made). He retired from Johnson Controls in 1992. While working at the Cape, Paul started an air conditioning firm, incorporating as P. H. Morton Co., Inc. in 1982. Pre dominately self-taught, Paul was fascinated with physics, obtaining four U.S. patents related to water pumping sys tems. Paul was a member of Snug Harbor Sub Vets USSVI. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo; daughter, Barbara Napeloni and her husband, Paul, of Grant, FL; three sons, Robert and his wife Angelia of Arlington, TX; Richard and his wife, Libby, of Houston, TX; Edward and his wife, Michele, of St. Petersburg, FL; six grand children Kelly (and her husband Tommy Thompson), Natalie, Michael, Megan, Rachel and Adam); two step-grandchildren (Michelle and Jessica); two great-granddaughters, Julia and Adeline; two sisters, Bette Carraway and her husband, Bert, of Charlotte, NC and Jeanne Metzger of Waynesville, NC; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob, and grand daughter, Tara. In his final days, Paul was fortunate to learn how many lives he had touched in a very positive way. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schechter Center, 1089 S. Patrick Dr., Satellite Beach. In lieu of flowers, Paul requested that donations be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice, 8060 Spyglass Road, Viera, FL 32940. Condolences can be sent to www.beachfuneralhome.com.

RYAN, Jeremiah Patrick, CDR, USNR, Ret., 72, died June 20, 2007. "Jerry" was born September 5, 1934. He served in the Submarine Service, was a Korean War Veteran; Shannon Rovers Bagpipe Band, Chicago. Member of IBEW Local 134 for over 40 years. Parishioner of St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge. Devoted son of the late Thomas F. and Julia (Judge) Ryan. Beloved husband of Anne C. nee McHugh. Loving father of Ali (Tom) Van Vleet, Sheila (Brian) Crowley, Daniel (Margaret) and Mary Anne (John) Egesdal. Dear grandfather of Matthew (Karina), Sean and Stacy Van Vleet, Dylan and Sarah Crowley, Dan, Matt, Shannon and Bridget Ryan and Julia Egesdal. Fond brother of Thomas, John (Pepita), Edward (Mary), Sheila (Paul) Wisniewski, Marie (Robert) Auer and Robert (Margaret). Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, Sunday, from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral, Monday, 9:30 a.m. to St. Paul of the Cross Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
