OK...OK...You can always bum two or three bucks off a cook or messcook. Then, if you root around in the bottom of your bunk bag, you're good for another buck or so...in bottom of the bag, pizza money. You can haul the COB's or some other lazy ass E-7's laundry up to Hop Sing, The Button Crusher's laundry wagon for two-to-four bits. Our you could simply wander up to Bell's...toss the family fortune in the middle of the table and suck suds out of the communal pitchers and hope to be adopted for the night by some big busted barmaid who'll haul you home like a stray cat. Or you could rent a fast horse, tie a bandana over your face and hold up the Geedunk truck (Naval Mobile Canteen). Holding up the roach coach would probably net you somewhere around eight to ten bucks....and ten years in Portsmouth. One of the unwritten laws of undersea boatsailors...NEVER BORROW BEER OR WORKING GIRL PATRONAGE MONEY FROM THE SLUSH FUND.....That would be a firey furnace no return ticket sin. DEX
