At random: A typical modern submarine may require as many as 2,000 working drawings for the more than 7,000,000 items used in its construction. Blueprints from these drawings if placed end to end would make a strip 250 miles long.

March 1973, drinking a Heineken on the Sub Barge in Guantanamo, Cuba. Driver of a officer visiting the boats CO flops down next to me and tells an incredible story. WWII ends and the Gov has boatloads of jeeps to get rid of.... long story short.... after the driver keeps buying beers, a number of us give this guy $100 and he writes down our mailing addresses. Never expected to hear from that crook again till yesterday morning when there was a knock on my door.....

Actually put one together in the sixties. When Mom found out how dangerous they were supposed to be, we had to sell it. It came out of North Carolina, in the box. I like to think it is still crawling around the Adirondacks looking to haul deer out of the woods.

Gives new meaning to the term "some assembly required."

If my memory is correct, my Father paid $400 plus shipping for it. Didn't look like that one in the crate, just a box with the parts in the back of the Jeep which didn't have the wheels mounted, only rims.

Do you want your $100.00 back ? Aww, heck, make it $200.00.
