LAMOUREAUX, Frederick Henry, 77, died at his home in Warren, Oregon on June 3, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Seattle, Washington on November 23, 1939, to Frederick L. Lamoureaux and Thelma Beddell Lamoureaux, he grew up in south Seattle and attended Highline High School in Burien, Washington. Following high school graduation, Fred studied at The University of Washington in Seattle on a Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1962, he was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy, serving in the "Silent Service" and was assigned to the nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine, USS Daniel Boone (SSBN-629). Later he was assigned to the guided missile cruiser, USS Oklahoma City (CLG-5). He resigned his commission in 1969 achieving the rank of Lieutenant. Fred was hired to work for Portland General Electric (PGE) as a nuclear plant engineer at the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant in Rainier, Oregon. After Fred's military service, they made their home in Warren, Oregon where they raised their three children, Chris, Brian and Tracy. Fred and Mollie spent their retired years traveling extensively and enjoyed being "snowbirds" at their home in Yuma, Arizona. Fred's passions included camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and just about any outdoor activity. But it was his family that brought him the most joy in life. He was loving beyond words, selfless to a fault, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Mollie, his three children and his grandchildren.
