At random: The USS SKIPJACK was the first submarine designed from the keel up for top underwater performance using nuclear power. An earlier SKIPJACK was the first U.S. submarine to cross the Atlantic ocean under her own power (Newport, Rhode Island to Ponta Delgada, Azores, in 1917).

Subject: Reforms simplify gun permit applications in Finland

New gun laws will soon make it easier for people to obtain firearms permits in Finland. The reforms will allow many firearm permit applications to be made on the internet, without a face-to-face meeting with police - even for first-time applicants. Gun permit applicants will also no longer be required to undergo psychological evaluations. The reforms go into effect at the beginning of next year.

It appears to me that the on line application process applies only to hunting type long guns. The process for a hand gun permit is much more difficult. I'll drop it all here before I'm accused of getting political.

With 50 states there's likely 50 different ways to get a concealed and/or purchase a handgun. Ergo, you're correct to just let it go.

Do laws and permits in Finland apply in the United States now?

Kinda doubt that as there is no reciprocity agreement between Finland and US on firearms.

I don't know that the population growth agrees with your last statement.
