At random: The USS NAUTILUS SSN 571 steamed 60,000 miles on a lump of Uranium the size of a golf ball. A diesel powered submarine would have required 3,000,000 gallons or 300 railway tank cars of oil.

It looks like everyone (Congress) is looking at the extent of training that the sailors are not getting due to budget cuts as being a major cause of these collisions.

Seems to me we don't have to worry much about NK or Iran. The Navy is doing a fine job of wrecking its ships all on it's own.
The Japanese had it's Kamikaze battle plan. Do we have a Navikaze battle plan?

This no laughing matter but to not inject a little humor would be too sorrowful.

How is the job title LOOKOUT defined by today's USN?

Seems a whack broad on the port beam should not be classed as a hidden approach.
