At random: George Washington Endorsed the use of the first American submarine, David Bushnell's TURTLE, during the Revolution. Following the vessel's attack on a British man-of-war, he discussed the potential use of submarines in a letter to Thomas Jefferson.

Now that I am getting nurses and carers in a few times a week to look after Shirley, I may be able to help with taking over Forty rod's spot as weekly DJ. That is unless everyone is of the opinion that it has maybe run its course. My wife's condition normally left me as housebound as it has made her over the past two years, so now I have a little free time to myself I would welcome the project. I would do my best to follow in Ian's footsteps of making good musical choices; anyway, you guys let me know what you think.

Pedro,
First and foremost is the health of your wife Shirley. I'm sure we all share the hope that she is on the road to a more healthy future...
All the best in health....Because at this age that's all we have.

Ditto what Joe said.
If you feel you want to do this then by all means do so.

Glad you're getting help, Pedro. Post those tunes, if anyone doesn't have the same tastes, they can click another. Hey, it's not like selecting a music station you can't change.

Now for me adding my three cents: Following are three tracks documenting an eighty [80] year career.

All are available on YouTube Music:

1. "Annie Ross 20 years before..." A clip from an old Little Rascals short.
2. "Annie Ross with Count Basie, Twisted" 1952, look for Tony Bennett in the background, these are lyrics she wrote to a tenor sax solo by Wardell Grey.
3. "Annie Ross, One Meat Ball" Recent live clip from the Metropolitan Room NYC.

Enjoy.

PS: Now at eighty seven {87] she still works Wednesday nights at the Metropolitan Room.
