Google hasn't helped in this search so far. But, today in San Diego it's Squadron 11. I think if I read the web site correctly it was stood up in 1989 but there is no write up as to the forerunner. My memory (which ain't good) thinks that in 1970-1975 in San Diego there was the USS Sperry and The USS Dixon. I think I was attached to Squadron 2 (with squadrons 1 in Groton and 3 in Pearl) which was embarked on Sperry. Then there was Sub Group 5 because Sub Group 7 was in Yokosuka. Since I've got CRS, does anyone remember who was who back then. I also am not sure what command the Dixon had embarked although I believe they took care of the nukes. Sperry had; Harder, Trigger, Trout and Gudgeon. I think Seawolf was attached to DevGru (development group) 1. But I could be wrong.

About all I can remember is Flasher, until she left Pearl, was flagship for, (CRS kicking in here), SubDiv (?) 72. I remember the "72" pennant flown on the pigstick.

Early 1960's, Sea Devil then Pomfret in San Diego. Tenders were Sperry and Nerius. They rotated being at the pier and the other anchored out. I think each was attached to one of the two squadrons, but don't remember the numbers.

Pacific Squadrons and Groups are odd numbered. Squadrons 1 and 7 are in Pearl.
This web site will help you with current commands: http://www.csp.navy.mil/subpac-commands/

SubRon 3 was in San Diego from 1946 to Mar 1995. It was then reactivated in Pearl in 1997 and deactivated in 2012.
11 is the current Squadron in SD but has only existed since it was established on the McKee in the mid eighties.

So where would the squadrons possibly be located. I understand in Pacflt, they could possibly be located in:
San Diego
Pearl
Guam
Yokosuka
Was there a squadron located somewhere in Australia, possibly Perth?
For Lantflt:
Groton
Holy Loch
La Mad?
Possibly in Norfolk or Charleston?
Was there a squadron located in the Indian Ocean at Diego Garcia?

Just got phone and internet back after down for three days.
No USN squadrons based in Australia since WWII. Albany and Perth were bases - south of Japanese bomber range.
