It does look to be a beautiful day on the Hood Canal. Nice breeze, loved to have been sailing!
As far as I know it means they did some really good work and probably returned home with a goldmine of "data".

I am surprised that the Jimmy Carter has been "unmasked" as it were, as our top spy boat. Would not that make their sailors targets for Russian spies? I trust that they have been intensely trained to recognize seemingly innocent encounters, and that probably very few of the crew knows exactly what and where the mission was, but.....

I seem to recall that it was not much of a secret when the Jimmy Carter was commissioned that it was a special ops boat.
