A friend JUST sent me a copy of Iron Coffins by Herbert A. Werner, a WWII U-boat captain. (forward by Ned Beach.)
When I'm through with it, it will be up for grabs. Give me a couple weeks to savor it.
Deluge me with requests any time.
Jon

After the war Werner, a former u boat captain, emigrated to the US [NJ] and eventually became a citizen. He was a frequent visitor to the Ling and boy did he have sea stories.

I remember the book being passed around on one patrol. It has been lots of years since I read it. |

Have had the book for many years now. Re-read every two to three years. So many losses but they didn't stop going out.
Fortunately for Great Britain, the super-boat came too late. |
