At random: "Submariners are a special brotherhood, either all come to the surface or no one does. On a submarine, the phrase all for one and one for all is not just a slogan, but reality.” -- VADM Rudolf Golosov of the Russian Navy

...just sitting here. Been listening to a YouTube video Jerry Lee Lewis-Live at the Star Club in Hamburg. I had never heard of it before. It was reviewed in Rolling Stone as ..." The album showcases Lewis's skills as a pianist and singer, honed by relentless touring. In a 5-out-of-5-stars review, Milo Miles wrote in Rolling Stone magazine that "Live at the Star Club, Hamburg is not an album, it's a crime scene: Jerry Lee Lewis slaughters his rivals in a thirteen-song set that feels like one long convulsion."

Whole album here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxh9XIiVUAE

Take a listen. Fantastic Jerry Lee.....

Looking for a long cold one to follow that.

Jerry Lee - the killer. Saw him once at the Tower Ballroom in New Brighton when I was on leave and was blown away with his performance. Met my future wife at the same show. so all in all a good night in more ways than one. A close second would have been Little Richard on the ivories IMHO. Great video thanks for posting.

I saw Jerry Lee in concert along with Willie Nelson and Slim Whitman in Seattle about 1975. Great show.

Saw him at the Alan Freed Rock and Roll show at the Brooklyn Paramount about 60 years ago.

Totally forgot until now that Little Jimmy Dickens was on the show too. Jerry Lee stole the stage though!
Love the part where the guy describes the concert as a "crime scene". He totally tore it apart. It was the best I'd ever heard from Jerry Lee.

Tom I saw him at about the same time, late 50’s in the Brooklyn Paramount. I didn’t care to much for him. Thought he was over the top. I was still connected to the do wop style and didn’t change my opinion til I heard the Beetles as we were returning to CONUS in ‘64.

Don't tell me you were at the same show at he same time. I'd put the show around 1956-7. The only other singer I recall was Brenda Lee. I too was not a fan of Jerry lee Lewis. Yes, the doo wop singers were my favs. Remember walking down the street at night and the guys would be singing in door ways or empty garbage cans to get the reverb. It was a city thing.

During my purgatory days riding a tin can in early 60's we had a group of black deck gang that would get together to sing do-wop style in a passageway on main deck which had good acoustics. What a sound!

Thanks for the link.  I was not much of a fan of the Lewis in his day, but grew to appreciate him.  It is amazing the man is still alive after the life he led.

Personally, I do not want to know what anyone does in their bedroom anymore than what they do in their bathroom!
