We had a good turn out for the 2017 Veterans Day Parade in Auburn Washington yesterday.
Bremerton Base had secured the services of two young volunteers from Sub Base Bangor to be Color Bearers.
As always Bremerton, custodians of the Sub Vets of WW II Float came with the said float, (see photo) and a good crowd.
Seattle Base had their float, (not seen) and good turnout as well. The local chapter of the Sub Vets Motorcycle group attended as well.

Seen in the photo below are, in the green vest, WW II vet Paul Christopherson (Raton) from Bremerton and kneeling alongside him is Seattle Base WW II vet Ralph Sterley (Sea Owl). The man in the orange coat is Bill Lightfoot who sailed as a Merchant Seaman during the war aboard cargo ships and is the author of the book "Beneath the Surface; Submarines built in Seattle and Vancouver". There were a number of people who arrived after the photo was taken or who were wandering around and didn't get into the photo.

Nice looking crew! It's getting harder and harder now days down where I'm at to get that many to attend a parade. But, BZ to your group, they look good.
