At random: "I saw the submariners, the way they stood aloof and silent, watching their pigboat with loving eyes. They are alone in the Navy. I admired the PT boys. And I often wondered how the aviators had the courage to go out day after day and I forgave their boasting. But the submariners! In the entire fleet they stand apart!” -- James Michener

Okay, this weeks selection is another variation of "Streets of Laredo" a traditional American song that possibly has more distant roots. But this version has a different story line and a great singing voice delivering it. Only available in combined mono and stereo renditions, so apologies for that.

I like this song; I find with the internet that there were many country western singers who were not Americans. Irish, Scottish, Aussie, and now British. Interesting stuff.

I was motivated to look up Houston Wells:

I also find it interesting to listen to Rock and Roll groups from various countries that performed in the 1960s.

Interesting. Can't say I've ever heard of this gent. Not a bad voice. Thanks.
