HUNTINGHOUSE, Richard G., 86, of Sycamore died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital. He was born March 14, 1931 in Chicago, IL. to John and Martha (Beyer) Huntinghouse. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving aboard a submarine in the Korean War from 1950 until 1954. Dick worked as a firefighter for the Elmhurst IL Fire Department for 32 years, attaining the rank of Captain. He was an avid hunter of deer and fowl making trips out West to Wyoming. Dick was also a great builder and remodeled his share of homes in Elmhurst. Survivors include 3 daughters, Deborah (David) Hails, Donna Smith, and Darlene Huntinghouse; 5 grandchildren, Brian Hails, Sarah (Nathan) Harter, Jason (Cara) Kromer, Jenette (Eric) Fosse, and Danika Mulcahy; 4 great grandchildren, Sadie, Liam and Audrey, and Levi; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister. Dick's attire was quite limited to his Fire Department uniform and flannel shirts with jeans. The family is requesting that attendees for his memorial luncheon to please wear a flannel/plaid shirt in his honor. The memorial luncheon will be held on January 20, 2018, at 11:30am at Ki's Steak and Seafood Restaurant, 705 North Ave, Glendale Heights, IL 60139. JARMAN, Dale Harry, ETC(SS), USN, Ret., of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., passed away Sunday Jan. 7, 2018, morning at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Mr. Jarman was born on March 22, 1942 in Riggsville, Michigan to Vernon C. and Helena M. (Wester) Jarman. He graduated from Pellston High School in 1961 and from Lake Superior State University in 1987. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy in the submarine service from 1961 to 1981, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer ETC(SS). He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He also machine-quilted approximately 1000 quilts that were donated to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. He loved hunting and fishing with family and spending time with his grandchildren. On Oct. 30, 1987 he married Lola Kay Nykanen in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and two sons; Heather Lynn Meeks (Christopher) of Butte, Mont., Laurie Whitburn (Thomas) of Green Bay, Wis., Lynn Pulfrey (Jeff) of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Jon Janz (Tammy) of Lake Muskego, WI, and Christopher Jarman (Hollie) of Lake Nebagamon, Wis.; 18 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, sisters Violet Hall of Nacogdoches, Texas, Joyce Parris of Rogers City, Mich., Helen (Alton) Buck of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Joanne Ostwald of Cheboygan, Mich., sister-in-law Judy Jarman of Rossville Ga., Brothers William (Ila) Jarman of Cheboygan, Mich., Ed (Deniese) Jarman of Joliet, Ill., Tom (Linda) Jarman of Sims, N.C., and David (Theann) Jarman of Raleigh, N.C., He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Derek Nykanen, sister Mable Williams, sister-in-law Marcia Jarman, brothers Don and Louis Jarman, brother-in-law Joe Hall, Al Parris, and Jerry Williams. Visitation will be held at the C. S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11 a.m.. Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ball Hospice House of Sault Ste Marie, Mich. SEKERES, Bruce Frederick, 76, was born on June 6, 1941 and passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Bruce was a resident of Tiger, Georgia at the time of passing. He was a veteran, and served his country as a Submariner in the Navy on the USS Picuda (SS- 382). He was Pastmaster of the Chagrin Falls, Ohio Masonic Lodge and member of Rabun Gap Masonic Lodge, where he served as Treasurer for many years.
