KOCZEN, William O., 95, of Bethlehem, PA, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem. He was born in Bethlehem on May 9, 1922 to the late John and Mary P. (Pojbics) Koczen. He served our country faithfully in the US Navy during WWII in the submarine service. He served in CSS-45, CSD-301, and USS Bluefish (SS-222.. Bill was a machinist at the former Bethlehem Steel for 43 years until retiring. He was a member of St. John's Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem and former member of the Hellertown Lions. Bill sang with the MORA Club, member for the Society of the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA), Lehigh Valley Harmonizers and sang tenor with Four's Company. Survivors, in addition to his loving wife of 67 years, Irene; daughter, Debra Koczen-Doyle (Anthony P. Doyle) of Philadelphia; sister, Pearl K. Reynolds of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Liam (Abby) Doyle, Caitlin Doyle; great granddaughter Lucy Grace Doyle. Family and friends are invited to call 10 - 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street, Hellertown; followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.heintzelmancares.com.
