I served with Joe Lopez on Skipjack. He was a great shipmate, Diving Officer and mentor. He smoked the most god awful Perotti cigars and told some of the funniest stories to us planesmen. He was a tough, but fair, sig and I’m proud to have sailed with him on numerous ops.
R.I.P. Joe and condolences to your family.
