NEGRON, George L., MD, CAPT, USN, Ret., 81, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Hospice Savannah. He was born on December 4, 1936 in New York City to Mr. Saturnino and Mrs. Carmen Negron. He was a graduate of Xavier High School and completed his undergraduate studies at Saint Peter's College, both in New Jersey. He continued his medical coursework and residency in Psychiatry at the University of Puerto Rico in 1962. Upon his graduation, he entered the United States Navy serving as the Chief Medical Officer for various nuclear submarines. With distinguished service, he retired with the rank of Captain in 1985. In 1981, he married Yolanda Negron to which their covenant of love remained strong for 37 years. To this union, God richly blessed them with a blended family of eight children. Their family moved to Savannah in 1985 and became residents of the Landings community, upon his becoming the Medical Director of Charter Broad Oaks Hospital. Embracing his strong spiritual upbringing, Dr. Negron joined the fellowship of the St. James Catholic Church, then he and his wife became founders of their non- profit, The Martin de Porres Society of Savannah. Their dedication and love in serving disadvantaged families and youth in our community has left a lastly legacy. He was predeceased by his parents: Saturnino and Carmen Negron; Brother: Joseph Negron; Children: Michael and Lisa Negron. He leaves cherished and lasting memories to his wife, Yolanda Negron and their children: Mark Negron of Boston, Mass, Beth Negron of Fairfield, Conn, Maria Gabriela Chavez - Verwiel of Savannah, Patricia Negron of Boston, Mass., Victor Alfredo Chavez of Tennessee, and Anna Paula Chavez of Atlanta, Ga., 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P. M. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. St James Catholic Church, with the Rosary service at 6:00 P.M. Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11: 00 A. M., at St. James Catholic Church with Father Mark Ross, Celebrant. His final resting place will be held at The Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Martin de Porres Society of Savannah, 459 Mall Blvd. Unit # 90, Savannah, Ga. 31406. Published in Savannah Morning News on Apr. 11, 2018


SEIELSTAD, Ronnie L., 59, passed away April 9, 2018. Born in Stockton, CA, he was the son of the late John Seielstad and Bennie Ellen Feemster. He retired as a Submariner from the U. S. Navy and was Protestant. Left to cherish his memory: his wife, Lesa R. Seielstad; daughter, Jessica N. Seielstad of Virginia Beach; son, Alexander Seielstad and Lindsey Rowell of California; sisters, Ann Jacobs of Texas, Joy A. Ascher of California, and Sylvia and Dennis Freeman of Idaho; brothers, John Seielstad, Chuck and Linda Seielstad, both of California. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel on Friday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the funeral home chapel.
