FIELDEN, Preston, was born on March 4, 1944 and passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018. Preston was a resident of Sayville, New York at the time of passing. Born in Dallas, TX, he was raised in TX and attended East Texas University (now Texas A&M Commerce) where he studied and played varsity football. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy as a submariner on the USS James Madison. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30, and Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence the Martyr RC Church in Sayville. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. Donations may be made to: Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York NY 10163 1-800-708-7644 Visitation at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM on May 14, 2018. HEIDE, Simon Lance, Sr., 70, of Bradenton, Fla., and Sleepy Hollow, IL, passed away April 27, 2018. Born in Elgin, IL on January 2, 1948, he is preceded in death by his parents, Julia Eve Much and Raymond Ardell Heide. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Pollyanna C. Heide; children, Brook (Tom) Heide-Benigno Bradenton, FL and Simon Lance Heide Jr., Plainfield, IL; his loving sister, Kimberly (Robert) Russell. He was a loving and proud grandfather to five grandchildren. Simon proudly served in the US Navy as a submarine torpedoman on the USS Trumpetfish (SS-425). After the Navy Simon joined his father at the family body shop, Ray Heide Auto Body, in Elgin, IL. After the business was sold Simon continued in the car industry owning an Ugly Duckling Rental Franchise and a used car lot in East Dundee, IL. Simon finished his work career with American Family Insurance as an auto adjuster. Simon was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Police Force. He worked within the community as a member of the Jaycees in Dundee, IL. He was a member of the Blue Knights motorcycle club with numerous other police and fire members. Simon loved to use his big bass voice in the Barbershop Quartet in Elgin, IL. He was also a faith filled member and participated in the choir at Cortez Road Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL. Polly, Simon, family, and friends enjoyed many hours boating, fishing, and relaxing by the water. Simon was an avid classic car enthusiast owning a camaro and corvette during his final years. Simon will be buried on June 1, 2018 at 10:30AM at Sarasota National Cemetery with Naval Honor Guard. A Celebration of Simon's Life will be held on June 2, 2018 at 11:00AM at Cortez Road Baptist Church located at 4411 100th St. W, Bradenton, FL 34210 followed by a luncheon at the Church. QUAYLE, Earl Donald, 87, a resident of Brooklyn, CT, died Thursday evening May 10, 2018 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. He was born in Ishpeming, MI on April 20, 1931 to the late George T. Quayle, Sr. and Clarice (Haupt) Quayle. He was a graduate of Ishpeming High School class of 1950. Following his graduation Earl enlisted in the US Navy and served our country proudly during the Korean War in the submarine division on the USS Becuna, fondly referred to as "Battling Becky". Following his honorable discharge from the US Navy, Earl was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company from 1955 working his way through the ranks retiring as a Forman of Cable Repair East in 1987. Earl was a 50 year member of the Niantic Mason Lodge 31, a 50 year member of the Danielson Elks Lodge 1706, a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a Communicant at St. James Church in Danielson, CT. He will be remembered fondly by his nephew Wayne Enlund who he took in as a child along with his brother Earl Enlund. He made it his life's work to help and care for Wayne as he battles Cerebral Palsy offering him every opportunity to move forward in his life. Earl was totally dedicated to his family and lived by the quote "Give from your heart and expect nothing in return". Earl is survived by his nieces and nephews Wayne Enlund of Brooklyn, CT, Anna Quayle and husband Joe of MI, George F. Quayle and his wife Carol of Oregon, Bryan Quayle and his wife Christine of Idaho, Gene Enlund of CA, Diana Enlund of CA, along with many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life Rose (Sostak) Quayle in 2010 after just shy of 57 years of marriage, as well as his brother George T. Quayle, Jr. who passed in 2015 and nephew Earl Enlund who passed in 1984. Family and friends may call on Tuesday May 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, followed by his Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 11:30, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Quayle's name to your local Hospice, Shriners Hospital for Children or SPCA.
